PKK supporters arrived at a coffee shop in Batman with flammable and explosive materials and made propaganda for the terrorist organization. While masked individuals attempted to incite the public, police teams, who acted after the footage emerged, detained one person.
The Batman Police Department detained an individual identified as M.E.T., who was determined to be making terrorist propaganda. The person was caught while making propaganda in favor of the PKK/KCK in a coffee house. Judicial investigation regarding the incident is ongoing.
THERE IS TERRORIST ORGANIZATION PROPAGANDA IN THE COFFEE HOUSE
According to the information obtained, a masked individual who entered a coffee house operating on Dicle Street in the Petrolkent neighborhood of central Batman was found to be carrying flammable and explosive materials, making propaganda in favor of the PKK/KCK armed terrorist organization, and calling on citizens to participate in street actions.

It was determined that the suspect was trying to reach a wide audience by sharing images related to these moments on social media platforms. As a result of the meticulous field and technical work of the Counter-Terrorism Branch (TEM) teams, the individual identified as M.E.T., who was determined to be the perpetrator of the incident, was captured and detained in an operation carried out on January 21, 2026.
During the searches conducted at the suspect's residence, clothes and digital materials believed to have been worn at the time of the incident were secured. Authorities reported that the judicial investigation initiated regarding the incident is continuing comprehensively.
