ROYAL FAMILY ANNOUNCES THE SAD NEWS

The Office of the Thai Royal Family announced in a written statement that Crown Princess Bajrakitiyabha had passed away. The statement noted that the princess lost consciousness due to a heart condition in December 2022 and had been under treatment since then, eventually succumbing to her illness.

HEALTH CONDITION WORSENED RECENTLY

In a statement by the Royal Family, it was expressed that the princess's health deteriorated due to an infection stemming from intestinal inflammation on May 21.

It was reported that Bajrakitiyabha, who struggled with low blood pressure, irregular heart rhythm, and blood clotting disorders, experienced a gradual decline in her health. The princess was announced to have passed away at 7:48 PM local time yesterday at the age of 47.

ROYAL CEREMONY TO BE HELD

Royal officials stated that funeral ceremonies will be held for Princess Bajrakitiyabha in accordance with traditions. It was noted that the princess's remains would be transferred to the Piman Rattaya Throne Hall within the Grand Palace complex in the capital Bangkok.

Bajrakitiyabha, the eldest of the seven children of King Maha Vajiralongkorn of Thailand, was born on December 7, 1978. The princess lost consciousness while training her dogs in December 2022, and doctors stated that the incident was caused by a heart rhythm disorder.

Having been treated in a coma for over three years, Bajrakitiyabha was regarded as one of the most significant figures in the Thai monarchy.
