The 10th International Open Chess Tournament held in the Çubuk district of Ankara has started with the participation of 448 athletes. The top performers will receive a total prize of 700,000 Turkish lira. Participants showed great interest during the opening of the tournament.

700 THOUSAND LIRA FOR THE WINNERS
A total of 700 thousand lira will be awarded to the winners. The opening program at the Çubuk Sports Hall was attended by Mayor Baki Demirbaş, Deputy Chairman of the Turkish Chess Federation Ömer Asım Ötegen, athletes, and their families.
In his speech at the opening, Demirbaş stated that participation and interest in the tournament have increased every year, and that they are hosting athletes in their newly built halls, expressing that excitement will be felt in the district for 6 days.
Ahmet Görkem Çiyanlı, who is participating in the tournament for the third time, said, "The hall has become much more beautiful. The organization is getting better every year. I am happy to participate."
Tuğba Coşkun, a parent of an athlete coming from Uşak, expressed her admiration for the organization, stating, "My son loves chess very much. It is hard to find a tournament of this scale in Uşak. It is incredible to have such an organization in a district like Çubuk."
Parent Fuat Dişkaya shared that he brought his daughter to the tournament, saying, "The support of the Çubuk Municipality in such social and educational activities is commendable. We thank everyone."
