Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek announced that a woman's body, which had remained unidentified since 2006 and was buried in a paupers' cemetery in Bafra, belongs to Gülcan Yazıcı, who had been listed as missing for years. The murder was solved through the examination of a list of 1,000 missing persons coordinated by the Department of Investigation of Unsolved Crimes, and detention orders were issued for three suspects, initiating the legal process.
In the Bafra district of Samsun, the body of a woman who had remained unidentified and buried in a pauper's cemetery since 2006 has been confirmed to belong to Gülcan Yazıcı, who had been listed as missing for years. Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek announced that three suspects have been detained in connection with the murder, which was solved through DNA matching.
INVESTIGATED WITH PAINSTAKING DETAIL
Meticulous work coordinated by the Department of Unsolved Crimes Investigation, established under the Ministry of Justice, has shed light on a 20-year-old mystery. Minister Akın Gürlek stated that as a result of expanded investigations, teams examined a missing persons list of 1,000 individuals and all connections with painstaking detail. Following DNA tests, the woman in the pauper's cemetery was identified as Gülcan Yazıcı.
DETENTION ORDER FOR THREE SUSPECTS
After the truth came to light, the Bafra Chief Public Prosecutor's Office initiated action in the investigation regarding Gülcan Yazıcı's murder. A detention order was issued for three suspects believed to be connected to the incident, and the legal process has officially begun.

In a statement on his social media account, Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek emphasized that they will follow up on every case to ensure justice prevails, using the following words: "This development, resulting from the work carried out under the coordination of our Department of Unsolved Crimes Investigation, which we established within our Ministry, is the most concrete evidence that our state will not leave any case in the dark. Under the leadership of our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, our justice organization will resolutely continue to pursue all unsolved cases and follow up on every file until the perpetrators are brought to justice."
