Istanbul Governor Davut Gül hosted students from five provinces at the Governor's Office on the occasion of April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day. One of the children insisted on seeing Beşiktaş's stadium during the conversation, saying, "Beşiktaş is also close to Dolmabahçe. It's beautiful," which led to laughter.
İstanbul Governor Davut Gül hosted 21 students from the provinces of Artvin, Adıyaman, Elazığ, Nevşehir, and Hakkari, who came to visit the historical and cultural sites in the city, at the Istanbul Governorate's building in Cağaloğlu on the occasion of the April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day.
"IN 15-20 YEARS, YOU WILL BE IN THESE POSITIONS, INSHALLAH"
Governor Gül, who was trying to get information from a child from Adıyaman about earthquake housing, celebrated the children’s April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day, saying, "I believe that you will tell your friends about what you see and experience here. In 15-20 years, you will be in these positions, in these duties, or even better ones, inshallah. When you return, send our regards to your families. We love you. May God keep you safe, and may your path be clear." he said.
THE REQUEST TO SEE BEŞİKTAŞ STADIUM MADE EVERYONE LAUGH
Istanbul Provincial Director of National Education Mücahit Yentür asked the children, "Would you like to see a stadium?" After Yentür suggested that they could visit Galatasaray's stadium, one child reminded him of Beşiktaş and said, "We want to see the stadiums of the three big teams."
In response, Governor Gül said, "It is very difficult to get from one place to another in Istanbul. You can go to the closest one here." The children replied, "Then Beşiktaş." Gül also said, "If it works out, the others can be included too. I’m saying this so that we don’t disrupt your schedule if you have other plans. Otherwise, you can actually visit all three."
Then, a child who said he wanted to go to Beşiktaş remarked, "Beşiktaş is also close to Dolmabahçe. It’s beautiful." The dialogues led to laughter. When the governor asked how the child knew that Dolmabahçe and the stadium were close, the child replied that he saw it while passing by before the visit. Following the conversations, Yentür said, "Let’s arrange whichever route is suitable. Fenerbahçe is a bit in the opposite direction, but we can arrange Galatasaray and Beşiktaş."
