The Ministry of National Education announced the interview results for the recruitment of 20,000 contracted teachers. Minister Yusuf Tekin had announced that the interview results would be disclosed today at 22:00 via e-Government.

MEB HAD DECIDED TO DELAY THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF ORAL EXAM RESULTS

In a written statement regarding the recruitment of 20,000 contracted teachers, it was reminded that the oral exam process for candidates started on July 2 and was completed on August 10. However, due to lawsuits filed in administrative courts for the suspension of the changes made in the relevant regulation, MEB decided to delay the announcement of the oral exam results.

The statement emphasized that prior to the administrative regulations, appointments were made based directly on the oral exam scores. It was stated that with the change in the regulation, the effect of the score obtained in the oral exams, which were conducted to measure the candidate's professional knowledge, suitability for the profession, cultural background, communication skills, self-confidence, and representation ability, was reduced from 100% to 50%. However, it was expressed that lawsuits were filed by unions and individuals for the annulment of this provision.

“MEASURES WERE TAKEN TO ENSURE THE OBJECTIVITY OF THE PROCESS”

In this context, it was reminded that the oral exams were conducted in the form of face-to-face interviews to evaluate the teaching skills that teacher candidates should possess alongside their theoretical exam success. It was emphasized that all measures were taken to ensure that the oral exams were conducted healthily and objectively without any suspicion.

The statement mentioned that a guide was prepared for the candidates explaining what topics they would be questioned on during the face-to-face interview and what was expected from them regarding their teaching skills.

It was stated that the questions were determined by the candidates themselves through an electronic lottery, independent of the commission. It was reported that 245 commissions were established in 20 provinces and that the commission members changed daily.

Additionally, it was pointed out that scoring keys were created to enable commission members to make rational and consistent scoring and to ensure unity across the country. It was expressed that during the oral exam, the answer key for the questions randomly determined by the candidate in the digital environment was simultaneously reflected on the screens of the commission members.

“THE EXAMS WERE COMPLETED IN A MANNER THAT WOULD NOT GIVE RISE TO DISPUTE”

It was stated that the commission members scored based on the criteria outlined in the announcement and guide provided to them and the candidates. The following was recorded:

“The identity information of the candidates and members was kept confidential, and it was not shared with anyone which commission they would be in. The interview took place using a code given to them during the application instead of their identity information, and the candidates' information was not shared with the commission members. The candidates submitted their answers in writing and signed, and at the end of the interview, the commission members entered the scores, closing the score entry for that candidate, and the entire process was recorded by camera. Within the framework of these arrangements and measures taken, the oral exams were completed in a manner that would not give rise to any dispute.

On the other hand, the final decision regarding the requests for the suspension of the proceedings related to all lawsuits opened against the regulation has also reached our Ministry. The unanimous rejection decisions given by the relevant department of the Council of State have revealed that the changes made are in compliance with higher norms and that the measures taken will yield favorable results for the candidates. As a result of the evaluation made by our Ministry, it has been decided to announce the oral exam results without waiting for the Council of State's decision on the merits, with the aim of ensuring that candidates join our education family as soon as possible and meet with our students.

It was stated that candidates would be able to learn their oral exam results and the oral exam success scores obtained by taking 50% of the KPSS score and 50% of the oral exam score through e-Government with their individual passwords starting today at 22:00.

The statement emphasized that candidates could submit their objections regarding the oral exam results through petitions between October 28 and November 1 by applying to the provincial or district national education directorates where they are located, and that the objections regarding the results would be evaluated by the oral exam commissions and concluded by November 11.

RESULTS WILL BE ANNOUNCED ON NOVEMBER 23

Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin also stated on his social media account that the results of the interviews for contracted teachers conducted by 245 commissions in 20 provinces would be announced at 22:00 via e-Government.

Tekin stated, "Appointment preferences will start on November 14 and will continue until November 20, 2024, at 16:00. The results will be announced on November 23, 2024, and the appointment decrees will be sent to the provinces for the completion of the legal process and the initiation of our teachers' duties. I wish the results to be beneficial for our valuable teacher candidates, their families, and the education community."
