Arab tribal forces have mobilized against PKK/YPG terrorists who have occupied areas in the eastern part of the country, where the Syrian regime has lost significant territory. The tribes, which have initiated a new operation, announced the start of liberation operations with a new video they released.
After Idlib, Aleppo, and Hama, the pressure of the regime-opposed groups led by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) on the capital Damascus has increased, prompting the regime army stationed at the country's border with Iraq to begin shifting some of its elements westward. Most recently, the forces of Bashar al-Assad's regime, which continue to withdraw some of their troops from the front lines facing the PKK/YPG-occupied area along the Euphrates River in Deir ez-Zor province, located on the eastern border with Iraq, have handed over control of the provincial center of Deir ez-Zor to the terrorist organization PKK/YPG.
ARAB TRIBAL FORCES HAVE LAUNCHED AN OPERATION
The Arab tribal forces in the region have initiated a new operation against the terrorist organization. The tribes that announced the start of the operation have begun to seize the villages that the Syrian regime left to the PKK/YPG terrorists in Deir ez-Zor.
REGIME ARMY HAD LEFT VILLAGES AND AIRPORT TO PKK/YPG
The regime army, which withdrew from the villages of Murrat, Hasham, Mazlum, Tabiyye, Husayniyya, Salihiyye, and Hatla in Deir ez-Zor and moved westward, had also left these 7 villages and the Deir ez-Zor Military Airport to the occupation of the PKK/YPG. According to local sources, the regime is preparing to shift its forces from the provincial center and other rural areas in Deir ez-Zor to Damascus. The regime forces, which aim to maintain a presence in only one military area in the provincial center of Deir ez-Zor, continue to gather in the Al-Bukamal district on the Iraqi border after withdrawing from the Meyadin district with Iranian-backed groups. The road used by Iran to reach Syria through Iraq also passes through the provincial center of Deir ez-Zor, which is occupied by the PKK/YPG terrorist organization.
SITUATION IN DEIR EZ-ZOR
It is known that Iranian-backed groups have a significant presence in the area starting from the center of Deir ez-Zor city and extending to the Al-Bukamal district near the Syria-Iraq border. While almost all of the Deir ez-Zor lands east of the Euphrates River are occupied by the US-backed terrorist organization PKK/YPG, the provincial center and other rural areas are under the control of Bashar al-Assad's regime and Iranian-backed groups.
AREA OCCUPIED BY THE TERRORIST ORGANIZATION
Simultaneously with the withdrawal of regime forces, the terrorist organization has begun to expand towards the east of the Euphrates River, occupying a wide area along a long front. Previously, the PKK/YPG had largely occupied the eastern side of the Euphrates River, which reaches the Iraqi border from the eastern bank of the Manbij district, and is now moving to spread west of the river in the central and southern parts of the country. The terrorist organization, which is spreading into areas previously dominated by regime forces but from which they are rapidly retreating, is also trying to advance towards Manbij at the northern edge of this area.
SUPPLY LINE TO SYRIA HAS FALLEN INTO THE HANDS OF THE ORGANIZATION
In the area starting from the center of Deir ez-Zor city and extending to the Al-Bukamal district near the Syria-Iraq border, Iranian-backed groups had a significant presence. While almost all of the Deir ez-Zor lands east of the Euphrates River are occupied by the US-backed terrorist organization PKK/YPG, the provincial center and other rural areas are under the control of Bashar al-Assad's regime and Iranian-backed groups. The Iranian Revolutionary Guards were providing access to the interior of the country by continuing from the Al-Bukamal district to the center of Deir ez-Zor along the supply corridor reaching Syria through Iraq. However, with the handover of the provincial center of Deir ez-Zor to the PKK/YPG, this supply line has also fallen into the hands of the organization.
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS IN SYRIA
On November 27, clashes broke out between Assad regime forces and regime-opposed armed groups in the western rural area of Aleppo province in northern Syria. On November 30, regime-opposed groups took control of most of the center of Aleppo from regime forces and established dominance throughout Idlib on the same day. After intense clashes, the groups captured the center of Hama from regime forces on December 5. The regime-opposed groups began to advance by seizing some settlements in the strategically important province of Homs, which opens to the capital Damascus. In the Freedom Dawn Operation launched by the Syrian National Army against the PKK/YPG terrorist organization in the rural area of Aleppo on December 1, the center of the Tel Rifat district was liberated from terrorism.
