A arsonist in Australia's capital Canberra miserably failed to set a barber shop on fire and ended up setting himself on fire. These dramatic and dangerous moments were captured on security cameras. On the night of July 6, around 11:40 pm, two suspicious individuals dressed in black were seen in front of the Gold Blade Barbershop. In the footage, one of them can be clearly seen struggling to break the shop's glass door to get inside. The arsonist, trying to conceal his identity by wearing a motorcycle helmet, started pouring flammable liquid from a can he brought with him after entering the closed shop. Meanwhile, his accomplice waiting outside impatiently shouted "Hurry up" and "Let's go." Things went out of control when the inexperienced arsonist tried to ignite a cloth soaked in fuel. Accidentally causing a big fire while striking the lighter, the culprit suddenly found himself and the shop engulfed in flames. In a panic, the fiery criminal escaped by jumping out through the broken windows. In a comical manner, the criminals who set the shop on fire also set themselves on fire. During the chaos, they had to roll on the ground to extinguish their burning clothes. Then, in a rush on their bicycles amidst smoke and embers, they fled. The police took action to apprehend these inept arsonists and appealed to the public for help. They released the security camera footage and requested anyone who recognizes the criminals or has information about the incident to contact them. Fortunately, thanks to the 24-hour open gym on the upper floor of the burned barber shop, there were no casualties in the incident. ACT Police Detective Inspector Matthew Sprague emphasized that the survival of the attackers from serious burns was purely a stroke of luck. The police are intensifying the investigation into this incident, which they believe was a targeted attack, and evaluating all leads. The authorities aim to bring these dangerous criminals to justice as soon as possible.
