GASOLINE IN THE U.S. REACHES $4 AFTER 2 YEARS
According to data from the American Automobile Association (AAA), the average price of gasoline, which was at $3.99 yesterday, has risen to approximately $4.02 today. Thus, the average price of gasoline in the U.S. has exceeded the $4 mark for the first time since August 2022.
35% INCREASE COMPARED TO LAST MONTH
While gasoline prices in the country increased by 1% compared to the previous week, they rose by approximately 35% compared to last month. The annual increase in gasoline prices in the U.S. has also been calculated at around 27%.
CALIFORNIA AT THE TOP
Due to supply conditions and tax rates applied in the country, gasoline prices vary by state, approaching $5.89 per gallon in California. Following this state are Hawaii at $5.45, Washington at $5.35, and Oregon and Nevada at $4.93. The average price of gasoline has been recorded above $4 in 12 states and the capital, Washington DC.
DIESEL SITUATION IS THE SAME
The average price of diesel in the U.S. has also climbed to $5.45, marking a 45% increase compared to a month ago. The rise in fuel prices has been influenced by sharp increases in global oil prices due to supply chain disruptions and production cuts caused by tensions in the Middle East.
The average price of gasoline in the U.S. reached a record level of approximately $5.02 in June 2022.
