It has been suggested that the Ministry of National Education is preparing to move the summer vacation earlier this year due to the Kurban Bayramı (Eid al-Adha). According to discussions in the corridors, it is planned to conclude the education and training period, which would normally end on June 20, during the week of June 2-6.

It is claimed that the Ministry of National Education (MEB) is preparing a detailed arrangement regarding the summer vacation before the Eid al-Adha holiday, which will start on June 6.

FAMILIES WILL EXPERIENCE DISADVANTAGE

According to a report in Sözcü Newspaper, while it is still unknown how many days the Eid al-Adha holiday will be, the fact that schools are set to end on June 20 under normal circumstances will cause many families to experience disadvantages.

PREPARATIONS HAVE STARTED TO PULL THE SUMMER VACATION FORWARD

In order to prevent the economic cost of parents returning to school for just one week of education after visiting their villages with their children during the holiday, MEB is preparing to pull the summer vacation forward this year.

LOBBYING IS MORE ACTIVE THAN EVER

According to discussions in the lobbies, MEB Minister Yusuf Tekin has instructed the creation of a timeline for the said arrangement and the acceleration of the curriculum.

SOCIAL ACTIVITY WEEK WILL BE SKIPPED THIS YEAR

It is planned for schools to end between June 2-6, ahead of the Eid al-Adha holiday starting on June 6, 2025. The 'social activity week' that is usually implemented in the last week of the education and training period will be skipped this year due to the tight schedule.
