The body of the famous Syrian figure was found in Sednaya Prison.

Syrian activist Mazen Hamadi, who went abroad in 2012 due to torture, suddenly disappeared after returning to Syria in 2020. Hamadi's body was found in Sednaya Prison, known as a torture facility of Assad. It was determined that Hamadi died as a result of torture.

The news about the terrifying face of the Assad regime, which was overthrown by armed opposition in just 12 days, continues to emerge. The revelations about Sednaya Prison, where thousands of Syrians lost their lives due to torture, were horrifying. A mass grave containing the bodies of prisoners who were dissolved in acid was found after the torture devices used on political prisoners in the prison. It was determined that one of the bodies found in the prison belonged to the famous Syrian activist Mazen Hamadi.

HE RETURNED TO HIS COUNTRY WHEN A PARDON WAS PROMISED

Mazen Hamadi, who was imprisoned in March 2012 for participating in anti-regime protests, was subjected to horrific torture. The famous activist, who spent 1.5 years in prison and was tortured multiple times during this period, was released in September 2013 and went to the Netherlands to share his experiences. Hamadi returned to his country after a promise of amnesty was given.

DIED AS A RESULT OF SEVERE TORTURE

As soon as he returned to his country, Mazen Hamadi was detained, and his body was found today during the search operations conducted at Sednaya Prison. It was determined that Hamadi died as a result of severe torture.
