The Central Bank has reduced the monthly maximum contractual interest rates for credit card transactions in Turkish Lira. The decision was published in the Official Gazette.

According to the decision published in the Official Gazette of the Central Bank, there has been a reduction in the monthly maximum contractual interest rates to be applied in credit card transactions in TL.

Following the interest rate cut by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, another significant development occurred. The Central Bank has also made changes to credit card interest rates.

CENTRAL BANK INTEREST RATE DECISION! HERE ARE THE NEW RATES

With the regulation published in the Official Gazette, the monthly maximum contractual interest rates to be applied in credit card transactions in Turkish lira are calculated by considering the monthly reference rate. For credit cards with a period debt between twenty-five thousand Turkish lira and one hundred fifty thousand Turkish lira, the previous addition of 114 basis points has been reduced to 89 basis points with the new regulation. For credit cards with a period debt exceeding one hundred fifty thousand Turkish lira, the figure has been reduced from 164 basis points to 139 basis points.

The monthly maximum contractual interest rate to be applied in corporate credit card transactions in Turkish lira (excluding cash withdrawal or usage transactions) will be determined by adding 139 basis points instead of 164 basis points to the monthly reference rate.

The monthly maximum contractual interest rate to be applied in cash withdrawal or usage transactions made through credit cards in Turkish lira will be calculated by adding 164 basis points instead of 189 basis points to the monthly reference rate.
