In the Super League, formerly known as the 1st League, Karşıyaka, which competes at the top level in football, basketball, and volleyball, faced resignations at the beginning of the season due to the withdrawal of the main sponsor in basketball and the accountability of managers for tax debts. Following the death of Football Branch President Gökhan Şensan, the management collapsed.

The historical debt burden facing the club, the inability to find sponsors, the tax debts for which managers are held individually responsible, the installment of public receivables, the salary and advance payments for basketball and football teams within this month, and financial obstacles such as basketball's European away games make it difficult for candidates to emerge for the management.

The club, which received significant financial support for basketball from Nazım Torbaoğlu and Tamer Ustaoğlu, saw them leave the management in protest after Şensan's death, leading to uncertainty with subsequent resignations. The remaining five-member management has set the extraordinary general assembly date between November 26 and December 3.

It has been learned that İlker Ergüllü, who has been the president of Karşıyaka since last February, is definitely not considering running again under the current conditions, while former presidents Turgay Büyükkarcı, Mutlu Altuğ, and former basketball branch presidents Cem Karas have also not made any attempts to run in the current situation.
