In the Champions League match between Leipzig and Aston Villa played last night, the assistant referee was overcome with tears after the final whistle. Leipzig's head coach, Marco Rose, consoled the assistant referee Alessandro Giallatini, who was in tears at the end of the match.

In the 6th week of the UEFA Champions League, Leipzig hosted Aston Villa. The match played at Leipzig Stadium ended with the visiting team winning 3-2, and emotional moments followed the match.

After the final whistle, the assistant referee was overcome with tears. Leipzig's head coach Marco Rose tried to console the referee, putting aside the sadness of the 3-2 defeat.

HAD PLAYED HIS LAST MATCH

The reason for Alessandro Giallatini's tears was understood later. Speaking to Bild, Leipzig's coach Rose said, "I asked him what was wrong. He said he was 49 years old and that today was his last match. We gifted him a jersey." The German coach stated that he congratulated Giallatini and consoled him by saying he would spend more time with his family.
