After the backlash, Demir published a video apologizing, and the chief prosecutor's office took action regarding him. An investigation was initiated ex officio against the influencer for the crime of "inciting or humiliating the public to hatred and hostility," and a detention order was issued.
DETENTION ORDER FOR THE INFLUENCER
In a statement made by the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the matter, it was stated, "An ex officio investigation has been initiated by our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against the social media user named Deniz Sinan Demir due to the words he used during a live broadcast on an online platform for the crime of 'Inciting or Humiliating the Public to Hatred and Hostility'; a detention, search, and seizure order has been issued to the Security Branch Directorate of the Provincial Police Department with the necessary reporting and identification. It is respectfully announced to the public."
