In the Tarsus district of Mersin, police officer Mehmet Tehçi (43) allegedly blamed his family for the suicide of his son Ö.B.T (15) a year ago. Following this, Tehçi murdered five members of his family. New chilling details have emerged regarding Tehçi's horrifying statement and the brutality of the incident after he was caught while on his way to kill other relatives in Osmaniye. HE TORTURED HIS WIFE BEFORE KILLING HERWhen Tehçi woke up in the morning, he handcuffed his wife Ferdane Tehçi (37) with her hands behind her back. After stripping his wife, Mehmet Tehçi beat her with a baton for a long time. Later, Mehmet Tehçi killed his wife by cutting her throat. MASSACRE AT THE BREAKFAST TABLEAfter killing his wife, police officer Mehmet Tehçi took his two children and went to his father-in-law Yusuf Tehçi's house. There, Tehçi slit the throat of Yusuf Tehçi and his mother-in-law Hüsne Tehçi, and also stabbed his father-in-law's sister, Semiha Tehçi, in the heart. HE TOOK HIM TO A WOODED AREA AND KILLED HIMMehmet Tehçi then set out to kill his brother-in-law İsmail Tehçi (40). He picked up İsmail Tehçi, a mathematics teacher, from the study center under the pretext of discussing "an important topic." While the children were in the car, Tehçi shot his brother-in-law in the leg. Later, he took his brother-in-law to a wooded area, where he first stabbed him in various parts of his body and then shot him in the head and chest with his service pistol, killing him. HE WAS CAUGHT WHILE ON HIS WAY TO KILL OTHER RELATIVESTehçi then set off by car towards Osmaniye to kill other relatives. However, when it was revealed that three people had been killed in a house in Adana in the morning hours, the police immediately began working to capture the suspect. The teams from the Homicide Bureau of the Adana Police Department anticipated that the suspect would head to Osmaniye and took precautions on the road. The suspect was caught in the Ceyhan Yılan Kale area. The detained suspect was taken to the police station. WHILE KILLING HIS WIFE, HIS CHILDREN WERE IN THE NEXT ROOMIt was learned that while police officer Mehmet Tehçi was torturing and killing his wife Ferdane Tehçi, he had placed his children in the next room, and later came to Adana with the children. It was alleged that Tehçi kept his children waiting in the car while he killed his mother-in-law, father-in-law, and his father-in-law's sister, and that the children were also waiting in the car while he killed his brother-in-law. THE CHILDREN ARE UNDER STATE PROTECTIONThe two children who were with Tehçi during the murders have been placed under state protection by the Ministry of Family and Social Services. The bodies of Ferdane, Yusuf, Hüsne, Semiha, and Fatih İsmail Tehçi, taken to the morgue of the Adana Forensic Medicine Institution, were buried side by side in graves opened in the cemetery of Tehçi village, connected to Osmaniye center, after the autopsy. "I KILLED IN A MOMENT OF RAGE"During his interrogation at the police station, it was learned that Mehmet Tehçi said, "I was depressed, I killed my family in a moment of anger and rage. I am very sorry." After completing his procedures at the police station, Tehçi was referred to the courthouse, where he was arrested by the court.
