Berhan Şimşek shared the decision to be referred to disciplinary action on his social media account with the note, "Dear friends; I am sharing my honor medal given to me by the administrators of the party of which I have been a member for 45 years."

The decision stated, "Due to your actions that undermine party discipline; you have been referred to the High Disciplinary Board with a request for expulsion on a precautionary basis, in accordance with Articles 63/5, 64, and 68/1-b of our Statute. It has been unanimously decided in the extraordinary meeting of the Central Executive Board held on September 15, 2025. You may apply to the High Disciplinary Board with a request for the lifting of the precaution within 3 days from the notification of this letter."

Berhan Şimşek later answered questions from journalists at the former provincial headquarters building in Sarıyer. Stating that he made his defense, Şimşek said, "We have worked hard in this party building. While we were putting in effort here, some friends were making prescriptions at the pharmacy. This is the enemy penal law applied to me and my friends."
