A fire broke out in an empty apartment on the top floor of an abandoned building in Beyoğlu, Istanbul. Actor Umut Özkan, who lives in the adjacent building, managed to escape with his wife at the last moment. Describing what they experienced, Özkan said, "We went through a very difficult situation today. The building right next to us caught fire. We took our cats and got out immediately."
On March 12, Thursday, around 19:00, terrifying moments were experienced in the Kalyoncu Kulluğu neighborhood of the Beyoğlu district in Istanbul. According to the information obtained, a fire broke out in an empty apartment on the top floor of a three-story abandoned building on the street. Citizens who saw the fire in the apartment engulfed in flames reported it to the fire department.
Firefighters who arrived at the scene in a short time intervened in the fire. After the fire was brought under control, cooling work was carried out in the apartment. Inspections revealed that no one was living in the apartment. The moments when the apartment was burning fiercely were captured on a mobile phone camera. The police launched an investigation into the fire.

On the other hand, it was learned that during the fire, actor Ufuk Özkan's brother Umut Özkan managed to escape from the house with his wife, taking their cats with them at the last moment. Describing their experience, Özkan stated in a post on his social media account, "We experienced something very difficult today. The building right next to us caught fire. We took our cats and got out immediately."
