Serie A team Fiorentina parted ways with head coach Stefano Pioli following poor results and tensions between him and striker Edin Dzeko. Under Pioli's management, Fiorentina failed to win in 10 matches and fell to the relegation zone in Serie A.
Fiorentina, which started the season in Italy's Serie A with great hopes, has decided to part ways with head coach Stefano Pioli after a series of disappointing results.
According to famous journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, the management was not satisfied with Pioli's performance and the club officially announced the separation.
NO VICTORY YET
Under Pioli's management, Fiorentina has played 10 matches in Serie A this season, resulting in 4 draws and 6 losses. The team, which has not yet achieved a victory, has fallen to 19th place. As the patience of the fans wore thin, it was reported that Pioli was dismissed in the early hours of the morning.
TENSION WITH DZEKO
Edin Dzeko, who transferred from Fenerbahçe to Fiorentina at the beginning of the season, sparked controversy with his recent statements. The experienced striker, without targeting his coach but implying, said, "When we play with two forwards, the team is more effective. But the decision is up to the coach. We must do our best on the field."
Following these statements, Pioli responded to Dzeko at a press conference, saying, "We are trying to find a balance. We do not have the strength for more than two attacking players. Dzeko is a strong player, but he knows where my office is. The hierarchy within the team is based on performance."
