Due to the incidents that occurred during the tumultuous Galatasaray-Fenerbahçe derby, 5 defendants from Fenerbahçe were sentenced to 1 year, 4 months, and 11 days in prison for the crime of "causing injury resulting in a bone fracture in participation under unjust provocation." During the hearing, a report was filed and the phone of Galatasaray executive Timur Kuban was confiscated after he took a photo of Mert Hakan Yandaş, who was prepared in the SEGBİS system.

Defendant Mert Hakan Yandaş, who was arrested as part of a football betting investigation, said, "This incident occurred because they insulted the flag on the day of the event. For us, the Turkish flag and the Fenerbahçe flag are an honor and cannot be trivialized. I request my acquittal."
