DATE OF THE CRITICAL ELECTION

Beşiktaş announced that the Extraordinary General Assembly Meeting will be held on December 22, and if a majority is not achieved, it will be held on December 29 regardless of the majority. The statement from the black-and-white club included the following expressions;

HÜSEYİN YÜCEL'S ELECTION STATEMENT

Beşiktaş Club President Hüseyin Yücel announced yesterday that a decision for an extraordinary general assembly had been made. Speaking at a press conference held at Tüpraş Stadium after the board meeting, Yücel stated that it is more appropriate for the presidency to be based on the support of the community rather than by statute. Yücel expressed that Beşiktaş should not be further damaged, saying, "Today, I stand before you for the first time as the President of Beşiktaş Gymnastics Club. I took over this honorable duty after the unexpected resignation of our president Hasan Arat, fulfilling the requirements of our statute. During this process, the prominent figures, legends, former presidents, presidency enthusiasts, journalists, commentators, social media influencers, everyone spoke. However, at this point, I believe that no one has the right to further damage our 121-year-old tree, and I am here to say the final word. This duty is an indescribable source of honor and pride, but it also carries heavy responsibilities. I believe that holding this position can only be possible with the support and consensus of our large community, not just by a statutory appointment. I would like to say that they have always known me for my love for Beşiktaş, but since last week, we have neither a coup mentality nor a love for the chair. HÜSEYİN YÜCEL IS A CANDIDATE

Yücel stated that Beşiktaş needs a clean slate and announced that he would be a candidate in the extraordinary general assembly.

Expressing his desire to disperse the fog over the community, Yücel continued as follows.

"Our Beşiktaş needs to open a clean page. While all matters are on our table, we cannot carry Beşiktaş into the future with daily discussions. For this reason, today I had to gather our board with an important agenda item. I believe that the date of the decision we made will be beneficial. Our board has made a decision for an extraordinary congress based on Article 27e of our statute. We are on duty until the election. We continue to fulfill all our responsibilities materially and morally. We are not running away anywhere. Our extraordinary general assembly will convene within 30 days to elect a new president and board of directors to manage our Beşiktaş. This decision has been made to give our community a breath of fresh air. I believe that leading such a rooted community should gain legitimacy with the support of the great Beşiktaş fans and general assembly members. I am here, and I am announcing my candidacy for the extraordinary congress in your presence. Resigning would have been the easiest option, but I did not run away, I am not running away, I am here. I need the approval of our community to carry out this duty."

"HODRİ MEYDAN, BE A CANDIDATE"

Yücel stated that their first priority with the new board would be to steer the ship to a safe harbor and then to plan the future of Beşiktaş.

Calling out to the names mentioned for the presidential candidacy, Yücel concluded his words as follows.

"Hodri meydan, anyone who wants can be a candidate. They should be by Beşiktaş's side. They should not run away from responsibility. They should not wait for May to be a candidate. I am calling out to my brothers who said until yesterday, 'I will not let even 1 TL of Beşiktaş be spent.' I am addressing my brother who says, 'This president may have been appointed by statute, but it is not an ethical board of directors,' and I recommend him to be a candidate. Please do not run away from responsibility. Beşiktaş is facing very big problems both materially and morally. Finding solutions to these is a duty for all of us."
