Spring weather in Istanbul is quickly giving way to cold and rainy days. According to AKOM's warning, temperatures will sharply drop starting tomorrow with a new weather system coming from the Balkans. It is predicted that temperatures in the megacity will gradually decrease below 10 degrees, reaching winter values by Friday.
Recently, the sunny and mild weather in Istanbul is giving way to a cold and rainy system starting tomorrow. According to data shared by AKOM, the air wave coming from the Balkans will cause a noticeable drop in temperatures in the megacity.
WINTER IS COMING TO ISTANBUL TOMORROW
According to AKOM's statements, it is expected that the cold and rainy weather coming from the Balkans will be effective in Istanbul starting tomorrow (April 8, Wednesday). Due to the system expected to be effective in our region throughout the week, intermittent heavy rain transitions are anticipated, and temperatures, which are currently around 17 degrees, are expected to decrease day by day, falling below 10 degrees by Friday, reaching winter values.
WEEKLY WEATHER FORECAST SHARED
According to AKOM's weekly forecast, the weather in Istanbul will be as follows:
- On April 8, Wednesday, partly cloudy and intermittently rainy, temperature 13 degrees.
- On April 9, Thursday, very cloudy and intermittently rainy, temperature 12 degrees.
- On April 10, Friday, very cloudy and heavy rain, temperature 9 degrees.
- On April 11, Saturday, partly cloudy, temperature 12 degrees.
- On April 12, Sunday, slightly cloudy and clear, temperature 14 degrees.
- On April 13, Monday, partly cloudy, temperature 17 degrees.
METEOROLOGY ISSUES RAIN WARNING FOR THE ENTIRE COUNTRY
The General Directorate of Meteorology stated in its assessment that temperatures will start to drop from the northwestern regions and that rainy weather will be effective in most parts of the country for the next three days. Heavy rain is expected in the Marmara, Black Sea, northern and eastern Central Anatolia, as well as in the Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia regions.
In the high areas of Eastern Anatolia, mixed rain and occasional snowfall are expected, while it has been reported that rainfall may be heavy in some regions.
WARNING OF HEAVY RAIN AND AVALANCHE RISK
Authorities emphasized that caution should be exercised against the expected heavy rains, especially in the eastern part of Southeastern Anatolia and around Osmaniye. Additionally, warnings were issued regarding avalanche risks and dangers related to snowmelt in the inner parts of the Eastern Black Sea and the high regions of Eastern Anatolia.
