Journalist Fatih Altaylı recently addressed Haluk Levent, who has been in the spotlight due to allegations of bad checks, and called for an account of the approximately 7 billion lira in donations collected by the AHBAP Association during the February 6 earthquakes to be given to the Turkish people down to the last penny. Following this call, Haluk Levent responded to the ensuing debates and announced that he would disclose all expenditure items one by one on his social media accounts.
Journalist Fatih Altaylı called for transparency from AHBAP Association President Haluk Levent, who came to the agenda with allegations of bounced checks, and said that the account of the 7 billion dollar donations collected during the earthquake period should be given item by item. Drawing attention to the time elapsed since the earthquake, Altaylı claimed that the promises of "transparency" made at that time were not kept.
Altaylı said, "In those days, Haluk Levent was promising everywhere, 'We will account for every penny we spend. We will be very transparent.' We also believed in his goodwill and himself. Three years have passed. I don't know what Haluk Levent did with the earthquake aid he said 'We will account for every penny.' There is no clear information on Ahbap's website about this issue, no account statement. As Haluk Levent promised, he must disclose all financial reports and provide the account of approximately 7 billion TL or 158 million dollars, collected by Ahbap for the earthquake in today's money, to the Turkish people penny by penny."
HALUK LEVENT'S RESPONSE: NO ONE WILL HAVE THE SLIGHTEST DOUBT
Following Fatih Altaylı's statement and the public debate that began, AHBAP Association President Haluk Levent issued a statement on his social media accounts. Levent, who also addressed recent allegations of financial difficulties, emphasized that he would leave no question marks in anyone's mind regarding the whereabouts of the earthquake funds.
ON THURSDAY AT 8:00 PM
Stating that the association's accounts have already been officially audited, Haluk Levent said in his statement:
"My friends! For a few days, my financial problems have been discussed. Naturally, questions have started to come in regarding the distribution of donations made to Ahbap during the earthquake period. In recent months, all association accounts from the earthquake period were examined and audited by inspectors from the Ministry of Interior. I have decided to explain these works item by item, penny by penny, on my social media accounts so that no one has the slightest doubt. This post will be made on all my social media accounts on Thursday at 8:00 PM."
Levent had previously candidly expressed that he sometimes struggles to maintain his own financial balance and emphasized that his commercial activities have no connection with the Ahbap Association. The famous singer made a statement saying, "My personal businesses are separate, the Ahbap Association is completely separate."
