The body of Onur Doker (37), whose decayed corpse was found in his apartment in the Kepez district of Antalya, was handed over after the DNA sample taken from his mother, Fatma Bektaş, was processed.
The incident occurred on Saturday, November 1, around 10:00 AM, on the second floor of a three-story apartment building located on 2516 Street in the Kuzeyyaka neighborhood of Kepez. Fatma Bektaş, who had not heard from her son Onur Doker, who moved from Kayseri to Antalya 10 days ago, set out for Antalya. When she arrived in the city in the morning, she called 112 Emergency Call Center for help after being unable to enter the house. Police, fire brigade, and medical teams were dispatched to the scene upon the notification. The police, who entered the house using a ladder extended by the fire brigade to the window, found Onur Doker motionless on the floor.
DEATH CONSIDERED SUSPICIOUS
Due to the intense odor, the teams had to step outside. While the door of the house was opened by a locksmith called to the scene, it was determined that Doker had passed away. Since the municipal physician found the death suspicious, crime scene investigation, homicide bureau, and crime and research teams also conducted an examination.
"MY FIRE HAS BEEN EXTINGUISHED"
Watching the teams work from outside, Fatma Bektaş cried out while speaking on the phone with her relatives, "Onur died 6-7 days ago. I would have sent the police. Why didn’t you send me? You burned me. My fire has been extinguished. I am devastated. My Onur is gone. My son is gone."
HE RECEIVED HIS FUNERAL 3 DAYS LATER
Onur Doker's lifeless body was sent to the Antalya Forensic Medicine Institute morgue after the examination. A DNA sample was taken from Bektaş, who went to the morgue to collect the body, as the corpse had decayed. Fatma Bektaş returned to the morgue this morning and received her son's body after the procedures. The funeral was taken to Kayseri for burial.
It was learned that Onur Doker was an art teacher and had not reported to his duty despite being assigned to Kayseri.
