I.Ç. and his wife C.Ç. were detained after it was determined that I.Ç. had killed his aunt by cutting her throat and stabbing her in the abdomen, then attempted to burn her lifeless body by stealing gold and money from the house and pouring cologne on it. In the suspect's statement, I.Ç. referred to Ö.B., who is alleged to be his girlfriend, saying, "I didn't want it to be this way. They wanted it, they guided me." I.Ç. and Ö.B. were arrested.
A chilling incident occurred on January 9 in the apartment on the second floor of a four-story building located on Öğretmenler Street in the Hürriyet neighborhood of Süleymanpaşa district in Tekirdağ. Upon receiving reports from witnesses who saw smoke rising from the apartment, police, medical, and fire teams were dispatched to the address. The teams, who arrived at the home of 70-year-old Binnaz Eriş, who lived alone, broke down the locked door and intervened in the flames. The fire was extinguished in a short time. Firefighters found Eriş's lifeless body covered in blood during their search of the apartment. It was determined that Binnaz Eriş had been stabbed to death in the throat and abdomen.
NEPHEW KILLED HER BY CUTTING HER THROAT
Police teams began examining all security cameras in the area regarding the murder of Binnaz Eriş, who was the mother of Serkan Eriş, a CHP council member of Süleymanpaşa Municipality. Binnaz Eriş's niece İ.Ç. and her husband C.Ç. were taken into custody as murder suspects.
In her initial statement at the police station, İ.Ç. confessed to her crime, stating that she killed her aunt Eriş by cutting her throat and stabbing her in the abdomen, and that she took the gold and money from the house along with Binnaz Eriş's mobile phone. It was noted that İ.Ç. took approximately 1 million lira worth of gold and a sum of money to her home and hid them, and later went to pick up her child from school, during which time she disposed of the mobile phone near a trash container in front of Zübeyde Hanım Girls' Vocational High School on Hükümet Street.

It was reported that İ.Ç. later returned to Eriş's house, poured cologne over the lifeless body, and set it on fire, which caused the fire in the house.
SHE CRIED TEARS
After the murder came to light, İ.Ç. was recorded crying with her relatives at the scene again. The murder suspect İ.Ç. and her husband C.Ç. were brought to court the day before yesterday after their procedures at the police station. İ.Ç. was arrested, while her husband was released under judicial control.
ATTRIBUTED THE CRIME TO HER FORBIDDEN LOVE
In her statement, arrested İ.Ç. expressed that she was very upset and referred to her alleged lover Ö.B. as "He wanted this, they guided me."
ANOTHER SUSPECT ARRESTED
After the statements, the police deepened their investigation into the murder and captured five suspects, including İ.Ç.'s friend Ö.B., and took them into custody. After their procedures at the police station, Ö.B. was arrested by the court, while four others were released under judicial control.
