Aydın Keskin, who is accused of killing a person he had a feud with by beating him with wood, appeared before the judge in Eskişehir. During the trial, he stated, "I hit the lower back and the rough areas, I definitely did not hit the head. I wanted to retaliate to make him feel the pain he caused me. I thought he was just injured and left." The hearing was adjourned.
Aydın Keskin (48), who is in custody on the charge of killing his rival Hasan Hüseyin Dogruk (60) by beating him with a piece of wood, claimed during the first hearing of the case that Dogruk had assaulted him two months ago, saying, "I hit him in the lower back and sensitive areas, I definitely did not hit him in the head. I wanted to retaliate to make him feel the pain he caused me. I just thought he was injured and left."
In September of last year, Hasan Hüseyin Dogruk encountered Aydın Keskin, with whom he had a feud, in the Yenibağlar neighborhood of the Tepebaşı district. The argument between the parties quickly escalated into a fight.
HE INFLICTED SERIOUS INJURIES WITH A PIECE OF WOOD
Keskin severely injured Dogruk by hitting him with a piece of wood. Hasan Hüseyin Dogruk, who was taken to the hospital by the ambulance called, died despite all the efforts of the doctors. Aydın Keskin, who was caught and detained by the teams of the Eskişehir Police Department's Public Order Branch, was arrested by the court he was brought to.
Meanwhile, the fight was captured by the security camera of a workplace. The footage included moments of the chase and the moment Hasan Hüseyin Dogruk collapsed to the ground.
"I THOUGHT HE WAS INJURED AND LEFT"
The Eskişehir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office filed a case against Aydın Keskin at the 3rd Heavy Penal Court. In addition to the detained defendant Aydın Keskin, lawyers and the wife of the deceased Hasan Hüseyin Dogruk, Hatice Dogruk, attended the first hearing of the case.
Keskin, a retired welding operator, stated that Dogruk had assaulted him two months before the incident because he disturbed the birds Dogruk was feeding, saying, "After the incident, I closed myself off. I was not seeking revenge. I was upset because I was wronged, and the matter ended there. While walking, I went to eat meatballs in a place nearby. This person came back, wandering around the meatball shop and made a gesture to me. I got scared and thought he wouldn't leave me alone. Out of fear, I went towards the place he called me.
I noticed a piece of wood, and I hit him 2-3 times just to protect myself. I left the scene quickly. I hit him in the lower back and sensitive areas, I definitely did not hit him in the head. I wanted to retaliate to make him feel the pain he caused me. I just thought he was injured and left. After leaving there, I heard the sound of an ambulance, I wondered what could be so important and returned. I surrendered to the law enforcement. I regret it, I trust in justice. I did not file a complaint anywhere when he first hit me because I was afraid of him," he said.
"HE SHOULD SERVE HIS SENTENCE"
Hatice Dogruk, the wife of Hasan Hüseyin Dogruk, also stated, "I think they had an argument with my husband, and it was resolved amicably. That's all I know. We did not see it, we did not experience it, we do not know. About 1-2 months ago, he came, and I understood from his condition. I asked, 'Did something happen?' He said, 'We fought.' At that time, I saw a redness on his head. He said, 'No, it was just a small argument, we resolved it amicably.' He said, 'I hit something in the end.' I am complaining, he should serve his sentence."
POSTPONED
After the defenses, the court panel decided to continue the detention of the defendant Aydın Keskin and postponed the hearing.
