The incident occurred on January 29 in the Esenevler neighborhood of the Yıldırım district. Turgay Kındaç sent a message to his wife Seher Kındaç's sister saying, "You can't take Seher from me; I killed her. Send the police and ambulance to the house, I'm not joking." After receiving the message, the sister informed the couple's son, Hüseyin Kındaç. When Hüseyin Kındaç arrived at the house, he found his mother in a pool of blood in the kitchen and notified the police and medical teams. The medical team confirmed that the mother of two had lost her life. "I HIT HER ON THE HEAD WITH A ROLLING PIN"Teams from the Homicide Bureau of the Provincial Police Department captured Turgay Kındaç, who fled after the incident, one day later. In his statement at the police station, Kındaç confessed to his crime, stating that he committed the murder out of 'jealousy', saying, "On the last day of 2023, there was a morale night organized by the factory at my wife's workplace. That evening, my wife took a photo with someone named M. and shared it on social media. We had been arguing about this for about a month. On the morning of the incident, we had another argument. I hit my wife on the head with a rolling pin, then I strangled her. However, I don't remember what I used to strangle her." Kındaç was arrested after his procedures at the police and courthouse. WITHDREW MONEY FROM THE BANK CARD AND SOLD HIS PHONEThe indictment prepared at the end of the investigation conducted by the Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office included the autopsy report of the victim. It was stated that Seher Kındaç was killed by being hit on the head with a rolling pin and then strangled with a rope, and that there were hemorrhagic fractures on her chin and throat. The arrested defendant, who confessed to his crime, was requested to be sentenced to aggravated life imprisonment for the crime of 'intentional murder of a spouse'. After killing his wife, the defendant took her mobile phone and credit card, withdrew money from the card, and sold the mobile phone, leading to a request for up to 15 years in prison for the crimes of 'qualified robbery' and 'gaining benefit by unauthorized use of someone else's bank or credit card'. SEARCHED ONLINE: HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO STRANGLE A PERSON WITH A ROPE?It was revealed that Kındaç searched on Google before killing his wife, asking, 'How long does it take to strangle a person with a rope?'. The mobile phone call records were included in the case file, and during the first hearing at the Bursa 1st High Criminal Court, Kındaç began his defense by apologizing to his two sons in the courtroom, stating that he loved his wife very much and killed her out of 'jealousy'. Kındaç said, "She sent a photo and a heart to a friend named M. from work. I felt jealous. Thinking that she was having a relationship with him, I checked her phone. I was ready to accept this. To prove my love for her, I drank bleach and ate rat poison on the day of the incident. While we were still arguing, my wife used provocative and inciting phrases towards me. In the kitchen, seeing the white cloth on the kettle, I laid Seher down and strangled her with the cloth. I didn't deserve this." REQUESTED AGGRAVATED LIFE IMPRISONMENTIn the second hearing of the trial, the prosecutor requested that Kındaç be sentenced to aggravated life imprisonment for 'premeditated intentional murder of a spouse and woman', and for taking his wife's mobile phone and credit card after killing her, withdrawing money from the card, and selling the mobile phone, he requested up to 10 years in prison for the crime of 'robbery'. "I LEARNED ABOUT MY WIFE'S DEATH AFTER ENTERING PRISON"Turgay Kındaç claimed that he learned about his wife's death while in prison, saying, "I learned that my wife had died after I entered prison. I did not kill my wife. I have questioned myself a lot in prison for 10 months. I had no intention of killing her. I always called her 'my life'. When I saw her photo with someone else, I felt jealous. My wife is my life," he said. The court panel decided to continue Turgay Kındaç's detention and adjourned the hearing.
