Diesel fuel leaking from a bus in Üsküdar made the road slippery. Drivers of vehicles moving downhill on the two-way road experienced difficult moments on the slick surface. One of the drivers said, "The vehicles couldn't stop, and they collided with each other. We have been stuck here for about 3 hours." Those moments were captured on camera.
Many vehicles were involved in an accident on the sloped road that became slippery due to diesel leaking from an IETT bus in Üsküdar.
An IETT bus spilled diesel on the road while going up the slope on Rasathane Street in the Küçüksu neighborhood of Üsküdar. Drivers of vehicles moving down the slope on the two-way road had a hard time on the slippery road due to the leaking diesel. Some of the sliding vehicles went up onto the sidewalk after the driver lost control of the steering wheel, while others hit the wall to avoid crashing into another vehicle. After many vehicles were involved in the accident, police teams who arrived at the scene after being notified cordoned off the road with barriers. Municipal teams that reached the street began to wash the road with high-pressure water to clean the diesel. The vehicles were removed from the road with tow trucks.
"WE'VE BEEN TRAPPED HERE FOR 3 HOURS"
Ömer Faruk Çeber, one of the drivers involved in the accident, stated that diesel was spilled in the middle of the road and that people around were signaling for them to stop while going down the slope. He mentioned that they hit the sidewalk while stopping and that their tires burst, saying, "The vehicles couldn't stop, and the ones coming hit each other. We've been trapped here for about 3 hours. The municipal vehicle just arrived. We experienced such an accident; may God protect us from worse."

On the other hand, in the footage recorded by a citizen with a mobile phone, a car sliding down the slope first goes up onto the sidewalk, then crashes into a pickup truck and stops after hitting the wall.
