After the 28th Term General Election, the AK Party, which gained representation in the Parliament with 268 deputies, increased its number of seats to 272 with the participation of members from different parties. Recently, Antalya Deputy Serap Yazıcı Özbudun, who resigned from the Future Party, Independent Istanbul Deputy Mehmet Selim Ensarioğlu, and Independent Konya Deputy Ünal Karaman joined the AK Party.

The AK Party was the only party to increase its number of deputies after the 28th Term Parliamentary General Election held on Sunday, May 14, 2023.

In the election, the AK Party, which obtained the right to be represented with 268 deputies in the Parliament, saw its number of seats rise to 272 with the participation of deputies from different parties.

3 DEPUTIES WERE TRANSFERRED

Recently, Antalya Deputy Serap Yazıcı Özbudun, who resigned from the Future Party, Independent Istanbul Deputy Mehmet Selim Ensarioğlu, and Independent Konya Deputy Ünal Karaman joined the AK Party.

Moreover, with the participation of Karaman and Ensarioğlu in the AK Party during the 8th Ordinary Grand Congress, the number of independent deputies in the Parliament decreased to 10.

ELECTION RESULTS

According to the results of the 28th Term Parliamentary General Election, the AK Party's number of deputies was 268 with a total of 19 million 392 thousand 462 votes.

CHP obtained 169 seats with 13 million 802 thousand 183 votes, MHP obtained 50 seats with 5 million 484 thousand 820 votes, Good Party obtained 43 seats with 5 million 275 thousand 981 votes, Greens and Left Future Party obtained 61 seats with 4 million 803 thousand 922 votes, Renewed Welfare Party obtained 5 seats with 1 million 527 thousand 48 votes, and Turkey Workers' Party obtained the right to be represented with 4 seats with 956 thousand 57 votes.
