The driver who was seen in traffic with a vehicle using flashing lights and claimed to be "the governor's nephew" was caught, and a noteworthy statement came from Istanbul Governor Davut Gül. He said, "The person in the footage is not my nephew; however, he is a brother to my 16 million fellow Istanbulites."
According to the information obtained, a person driving on Cendere Street in Sarıyer Ayazağa attempted to cut off another driver, who reacted by saying, "I am the governor's nephew," and then drove away. The person next to the driver recorded the incident with a mobile phone camera.
THE DRIVER USING A VEHICLE WITH FLASHING LIGHTS WAS CAUGHT
After the footage was published on social media, the Istanbul Police Department's Traffic Inspection Branch Virtual Traffic Patrol teams took action. The driver, identified as S.O. (22), who was trying to gain priority in traffic by using a vehicle with flashing lights, was apprehended. A total fine of 146,134 TL was imposed on driver S.O., and their driver's license was temporarily revoked for 30 days.

The vehicle was also banned from traffic for 30 days. Additionally, legal proceedings were initiated against driver S.O. It was learned that driver S.O. would be referred to judicial authorities after the procedures. Furthermore, it was stated that the driver is not the nephew of Istanbul Governor Davut Gül.

Following the driver's capture, a statement was made by Istanbul Governor Davut Gül. In a statement on his social media account, Governor Gül said: "And the expected end... The person in the footage is not my nephew; however, he is my 16 million Istanbulite brothers and sisters. Since this matter concerns the common law of our valuable fellow citizens, we will not grant privileges to anyone. We will not allow these lawbreakers to get away with it."
