In Aksaray, a driver who took to the streets in a pickup truck with a blood alcohol level five times the legal limit tested the patience of traffic police by saying, "Honestly, the state has been very strict, and you have been very strict with us too." He also threatened journalists with the words, "Think about the people you are pulling over before you do it. I will call you tomorrow. You will see my weight; I have the Republic of Turkey behind me." The individual was fined 11,433 TL and had his driver's license confiscated.

On 5272 Street in Yavuz Sultan Selim Neighborhood, Aksaray, a pickup truck with license plate 68 ACC 405, driven by Uğur Ç. (36), veered off the road and overturned in the field. Upon notification, police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. The medical teams, who arrived at the accident site shortly, left the scene after the injured driver refused treatment, while the police teams initiated an investigation regarding the accident.

DRIVER UNDER THE INFLUENCE, VEHICLE NOT INSPECTED

In the examination conducted by the traffic teams, the driver was subjected to a breathalyzer test. It was determined that the driver was 1.10 promille alcohol, exceeding the legal limit by more than 5 times, and that the pickup truck was not inspected.

"THE STATE IS REALLY PRESSING, YOU ARE PRESSING US TOO"

In response to the police officer's question, "What did you drink?", the driver initially replied, "I didn't drink anything," but later said, "I drank 2. That's all." Unaware that his license would be revoked for driving under the influence, the driver was concerned about losing points on his license and said, "Write the fine, that's fine, just don't let my license points drop."

Uğur Ç. stated, "I received a record fine this year. I received a record in fines. The state is really pressing, and you are pressing us too. What would have happened if you hadn't seen this accident? We would have made it before you. Look at it from that side too," he said.

THREATENED JOURNALISTS: GIVE ME YOUR ID

Then, turning to the journalist doing his job, Uğur Ç. said, "Think about the people you filmed and shoot them accordingly. Tomorrow I will call you. Let's see your weight, and you will see my weight too. We will see tomorrow. I will call you. Give me your ID," and threatened him.

FINES IMPOSED, LICENSE REVOKED

The driver's license was revoked for 6 months, and a total fine of 11,433 lira was imposed, consisting of 9,267 lira for driving under the influence and 2,166 lira for driving an uninspected vehicle. The pickup truck was handed over to a relative who came to the scene, while the driver was taken into custody as part of the judicial process initiated by the Aksaray Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, and was taken for a health check before being brought to the police station for his statement.
