In Kayseri, an impressive experiment was conducted on the occasion of August 30 Victory Day. A municipal employee asked citizens to lift a 215-kilogram cannonball, but no one was able to move it even slightly. When the official mentioned that Seyit Onbaşı had changed the course of the battle during the Gallipoli Campaign by loading a 215-kilogram shell into the cannon, the citizens experienced emotional moments.
The Talas Municipality in Kayseri conducted an experiment for social awareness on the occasion of August 30 Victory Day. A staff member in front of the 100th Anniversary Museum from Çanakkale, located on the historic Ali Saip Pasha Street, asked passersby for help to carry the cannonball on the street.
NOBODY COULD MOVE IT FROM ITS PLACE
Those who wanted to help the staff member, who stated that the cannonball needed to be taken inside, could not move it from its place. Despite several people trying together, they could not lift the cannonball.
EMOTIONAL MOMENTS WERE EXPERIENCED
The staff member explained that Seyit Onbaşı lifted the 215-kilogram cannonball and placed it in the barrel during the Battle of Çanakkale, changing the course of the war. Citizens who visited the museum and witnessed the experiment experienced emotional moments.
