The details of the total fraud amounting to 14 million 714 thousand 354 Turkish Lira in the application named "Inat Box," which illegally broadcasts paid series, movies, and sports events over the internet, have emerged. It has been learned that the suspects accessed the internet banking accounts of individuals using the application, particularly during nighttime hours, through spyware, and emptied their accounts.
A total of 46 people were identified as suspects in an operation conducted against a platform that illegally broadcasts paid series, movies, and sports events over the internet, stealing a total of 14 million 714 thousand 354 lira from their bank accounts. In the operation across 21 provinces, 43 suspects were detained, and 27 of them were arrested and sent to prison.
MILLION-LIRA SCAM FROM THE INAT BOX APPLICATION
With the instruction of the Anadolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office's Fraud and Scam Bureau, teams from the Istanbul Cyber Crime Department conducted investigations and determined that the application named 'Inat Box' was downloaded to mobile phones and televisions, illegally broadcasting series, movies, and sports events for a fee.
THEY GAINED ACCESS TO INTERNET BANKING ACCOUNTS WITH SPYWARE
It was determined that the suspects gained unauthorized access to the internet banking accounts of individuals using the application, especially during nighttime hours, through harmful software. A total of 14 million 714 thousand 354 lira was stolen from the bank accounts of 46 individuals. As a result of the investigations, 75 suspects were identified.
27 PEOPLE WERE ARRESTED
It was determined that 7 of the suspects were in prison, and 1 was abroad. Simultaneous operations were conducted in 21 provinces. In the operations, 43 out of 67 suspects were detained. After their procedures at the police station, 10 suspects were released, while 33 suspects were referred to the Anadolu Courthouse. Of the suspects brought before the prosecutor, 27 were requested to be arrested, and 4 were referred to the peace criminal court with a request for judicial control. In court, 27 suspects were arrested and sent to prison.
