In a bizarre incident at a state hospital in the capital of Bihar, it has emerged that the eye of a man who died from gunshot wounds went missing hours after his death. While doctors claim that the eye was eaten away by rats, the deceased man's family is skeptical about this. Fantush Kumar, who was shot by unidentified assailants on November 15 and taken to Nalanda Medical College Hospital (NMCH) in Patna, died on Friday night. Since the autopsy could not be performed at night, the body was kept in the intensive care unit and the procedure was postponed until Saturday morning. A family member stated, "We noticed that the left eye was missing when the body was brought from the morgue, and there was a surgical knife found next to the body on the stretcher." While the family alleges negligence and malice, some doctors claim that the eye may have been gnawed by rats. The hospital's chief physician, Binod Kumar Singh, said, "A medical team has been formed to investigate the incident. This is a serious matter, and strict measures should be taken against those found guilty. Doctors suspect that the eye may have been gnawed by rats. All aspects of the incident are being investigated, and we are awaiting the autopsy report." The hospital administration has filed an official complaint with the Alamganj police station regarding the incident. The police are reviewing the hospital's security camera footage and are seeking explanations from the doctors who performed the autopsy. While the investigation is ongoing, the deceased man's family has not yet filed an official complaint.
