The famous YouTuber MrBeast, who has over 460 million subscribers on YouTube and earns 82 million dollars a year, has been in the spotlight due to scandals such as offering money to vulnerable people in exchange for challenges, using his good deeds for profit, allegations of sexual assault and racist jokes, unsafe working conditions, and sexual harassment.

He is among the YouTubers with the most subscribers on the platform, boasting over 308 million subscribers on his main channel and reaching approximately 460 million when including his other four channels. According to Forbes, he earned an estimated $82 million from June 2022 to June 2023 alone.

VOLUNTEER CHARITY PROJECTS WERE MAKING NOISE

Starting his YouTube career in 2012, Donaldson has a long history of producing entertaining content that garners hundreds of millions of views. He is known for challenging people to push their limits in exchange for large cash prizes. He does not spend his earnings solely on himself; for example, his charitable efforts, such as financing cataract surgeries to help 1,000 people regain their sight or volunteering in underserved communities, have made quite an impact.

This level of fame and wealth has certainly brought scrutiny and criticism. Some critics have said that offering money to vulnerable people in exchange for physical or mental challenges is ethically questionable. Others have criticized him for using his good deeds as "content" to profit. However, in recent months, Donaldson and his team have found themselves at the center of different controversies. In July, his friend and former collaborator Ava Kris Tyson was accused of inappropriate conversations with minors. In August, another former MrBeast employee accused Tyson of sexually assaulting him (Tyson denied all allegations). Meanwhile, Donaldson, who was preparing a competition program for Amazon, was alleged to have victimized some contestants. Complainants from the program called Beast Games reported that they were subjected to unsafe working conditions and made racist jokes. After videos related to this issue resurfaced, the famous YouTuber was forced to apologize. However, this apology did not prevent a 54-page indictment from being filed against him.

Five female contestants from the Beast Games competition, which is set to air on Prime Video, have filed a lawsuit against the production company MrB2024 in Los Angeles and Amazon.

WHAT IS BEAST GAMES?

Promoted as the largest reality competition show ever made, with a total of 1,000 contestants competing for a $5 million prize - if the competition airs - the massive production is already in crisis due to the lawsuit.

The most striking allegation in the lawsuit is that women were "systematically subjected to misogyny and a culture of sexism," causing them "particular and collective" suffering. Other highlights include claims that participants were inadequately fed, excessively fatigued, and that meals were provided so infrequently that they posed a risk to human health. It is claimed that meals were provided in a "sporadic and infrequent" manner that endangered the participants' health.

In addition to all these negative aspects, the existence of a 'culture and pattern of sexual harassment' is disturbingly recurrent.

The New York Times reported in August that they had spoken with some of the participants, stating that "several people were hospitalized during filming," and one person claimed to have gone over 20 hours without eating. Several contestants who required regular medication alleged that they did not receive it on time.

Jimmy Donaldson is facing allegations that he earned over $23 million through insider trading involving cryptocurrency projects. According to a report by Lookonchain, MrBeast's influence on internet users is said to have been used to promote digital tokens before selling them, undermining investor confidence.

Lookonchain's investigation claims that Mr. Beast has participated in more than five new cryptocurrency projects and made significant profits. Specifically, it is alleged that he earned $11.45 million from the SUPER token, $4.65 million from ERN, $1.72 million from PMON, $1.31 million from STAK, and $1 million from AIOZ.

This report came shortly after controversial allegations surrounding Donaldson, including an FBI investigation into workplace harassment claims. Donaldson has chosen to remain silent for now. As his fan base continues to grow, it is believed that the resurgence of these controversies will significantly impact the trajectory of his long-term success.
