A wildfire that broke out in the Mazıdağı district of Mardin was brought under control through the intense intervention of farmers and firefighting teams. The fire started for an undetermined reason in the rural areas of Yetkinler and Şenyuva neighborhoods in Mazıdağı. The flames, spreading rapidly over a wide area due to the wind, threatened nearby agricultural lands.
Upon reports from citizens who saw the fire, teams from the Mardin Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department were dispatched to the region.
FIREFIGHTING TEAMS BEGAN COOLING OPERATIONS
Meanwhile, hundreds of farmers from surrounding neighborhoods arrived at the fire zone with their tractors and mobilized to prevent the spread of the flames. Firebreaks plowed by tractors and intensive intervention significantly contributed to the extinguishing efforts. As a result of the coordinated work of firefighting teams and farmers, the fire was brought under control, and cooling operations were carried out in the area to prevent possible re-ignitions.
