According to the data from the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), a 4.3 magnitude earthquake occurred with its epicenter in the Kiğı district of Bingöl. The tremor, recorded at 20:14, occurred at a depth of 13.56 kilometers.
STATEMENT FROM THE GOVERNOR OF BINGÖL
Bingöl Governor Ahmet Hamdi Usta stated in a social media announcement following the earthquake that there were no reports of any negative situations and that damage assessment work had begun.
Usta said, "Get well soon Kiğı, as of 20:14 on 29.05.2925, there have been no reports of loss of life or property in our administration regarding the 4.3 magnitude earthquake that occurred in our Kiğı district." He added, "Damage assessment work is ongoing in Kiğı center and our villages by our AFAD and Gendarmerie teams."
