"The first group meeting of Yeni Yol in the Parliament"

The New Path group, established by the Saadet Party, DEVA Party, and the Future Party, held its first group meeting in the Parliament.

During the first meeting of the New Path group, the leaders of the three parties, Mahmut Arıkan, Ali Babacan, and Ahmet Davutoğlu, took turns speaking at the podium. The leaders will each give a speech today for the launch of the party, but the group speeches in the following weeks may vary according to the leaders' schedules.

CALL TO POWER

The first leader to speak at the meeting, Mahmut Arıkan, called on the government from the podium. Stating that "being enemies with the USA can be dangerous, but being friends with the USA is even more dangerous and deadly," Arıkan said, "We demand the government to reconsider its relations with the USA."

FIRST DEPARTURE FROM NEW PATH

Future Party Istanbul Deputy İsa Mesih Şahin announced that he would not be part of the "New Path Group" established in the Turkish Grand National Assembly by the three parties. Şahin, the first name to leave New Path, stated the following in a post on his social media account regarding the matter:

"As of today, my duty as the youngest Group Deputy Chairman in the Turkish Grand National Assembly for 1.5 years has come to an end. Throughout my term, I have tried to carry the trust of our nation in the best way possible. During this process, I always prioritized a constructive opposition approach. I brought all of Turkey's significant issues to the Parliament. I have made efforts to take steps that would benefit our country and nation by combining my criticisms with solution proposals. I stood by our state in all matters directly related to our national interests."

"I WILL NOT BE PART OF THE GROUP"

Şahin, who stated that his efforts and stance would continue in the same way, said, "I wish the 'New Path Group' established in the Turkish Grand National Assembly through the cooperation of the three parties to be beneficial. As a result of my discussions with our General Chairman and our party boards, I will not be part of this newly established group. I will continue to work with the same passion for our country and nation as on the first day."

GROUP MANAGEMENT HAS ALSO BEEN DETERMINED

Recently, the group management of New Path has also been determined. The former Saadet Party Istanbul Deputy Bülent Kaya, who is the Deputy Chairman of the Future-Saadet group, became the Group Chairman of New Path. Former DEVA Party Mersin Deputy Mehmet Emin Ekmen and former Future Party Muğla Deputy Selçuk Özdağ will also serve as Deputy Chairmen in the New Path. İzmir Deputy Mustafa Bilici has become a Secretary Member.
