As the Pakistan-Afghanistan war officially begins, dozens of people have lost their lives in ongoing clashes since the night. While the Taliban announced that it had captured 15 military areas in the border region, images of air defense units attempting to detect a Pakistani warplane have made a significant impact.

Conflicts that began at night between Pakistan and Afghanistan have officially turned into war. It is reported that dozens of people have died and hundreds have been injured in the mutual attacks that continued throughout the night. While the Pakistani administration announced that the operations are being carried out under "open war," both sides are applying heavy strikes and retaliations.

According to the latest information, Pakistan's Information Minister Attaullah Tarar stated that 133 people have died on the Afghan side and more than 200 have been injured in the operations conducted throughout the night. He mentioned that the Pakistani army has carried out airstrikes on targets in locations such as Kabul, Paktia, and Kandahar. The Afghan side claimed that they have retaliated against Pakistan and that operations are ongoing.

THE TOLL IS HEAVY

The Afghan side also claimed that 55 Pakistani soldiers have been killed in retaliatory attacks and that control points belonging to Pakistan have been seized. Such mutual statements have not yet been clearly verified by independent sources.

IMAGES FROM THE FRONT HAVE CAUSED A STIR

From the very first moments of the clashes, the Taliban announced that they have taken control of 15 military areas in the border region. Images showing Taliban forces attempting to detect Pakistani warplanes with their air defense units have caused a significant stir on social media, but there is no clear confirmation regarding the context and authenticity of these images.

These hot clashes have come after a long-standing escalation of tensions in the region and recent air operations. It was reported that at least 18 civilians lost their lives in airstrikes by the Pakistan Air Force targeting Nangarhar and Paktika provinces in eastern Afghanistan, and that Pakistan neutralized 80 militants.
