It has come to light that during a delayed flight, flight attendants opened the emergency exit door and took selfies on the wing of the plane. Three flight attendants were seen taking photos on the left wing of the Boeing 737. The incident occurred on Eastar Jet's flight 703 and is currently under investigation by the airline.

Careless airline staff opened the emergency exit door to take a selfie on the wing of the plane.

The footage shows three uniformed flight attendants climbing onto the left wing of a Boeing 737 to take photos. The flight attendants seem unaware that they are committing a crime.

The incident, which occurred during a delay of more than an hour on Eastar Jet's flight 703 on February 12, is being investigated by the airline.

The reason for the delay was that the runway at Cheongju International Airport in South Korea was covered with four centimeters of snow and was closed. The flight was headed to Jeju Island, approximately an hour away.

Since Cheongju Airport is classified as a military facility, taking photos and videos, including selfies, is strictly prohibited. Those who take photos or videos can face up to three years in prison or fines of up to £16,500.

Eastar Jet stated that the emergency exit doors are not opened specifically for taking photos. The low-cost airline noted that the crew was instructed to open the door as part of their training.

An Eastar spokesperson said, "The airline assessed the waiting time caused by heavy snowfall and conducted emergency exit training, which is usually difficult to carry out."

The Seoul-based airline still acknowledged that the flight attendants' behavior was inappropriate and stated that they are investigating the incident.

In November, a passenger attempted to open the emergency exit door during a flight. Shocking footage showed a man trying to exit the plane while in the air, 30 minutes before landing, and was subdued by other frightened passengers. Copa Airlines flight CM204 was traveling from Brasília, Brazil, to Panama City.

In January 2024, Alaska Airlines flight 1282 made an emergency landing in Portland, Oregon, after the door plug ejected, causing uncontrolled decompression. All 177 passengers and crew on board survived.

In 2020, on Pakistan International Airlines flight PK631 from Islamabad to Sukkur, the aircraft door suddenly opened during landing.
