The footage shows Aytekin arriving at the station in a truck with the license plate 03 HK 184, pouring the water from 5-liter water bottles he bought at the market into flower pots, and then moving to the pump to fill these bottles with gasoline. The suspect, who placed the gasoline in the bed of his vehicle, was also seen frequently making phone calls around the station.
DISPLAYED SUSPICIOUS BEHAVIORS
During the time the fire broke out, Ufuk Aytekin was reported to have displayed suspicious behaviors in the forested area by citizens. He left the scene in his truck with the license plate 03 HK 184. After gasoline cans were found in the bed of the truck, Aytekin was taken into custody by the Harmancık District Police Department teams in Kışmanlar village.
FETÖ PAST AND PSYCHOLOGICAL ISSUES
According to the information obtained, Ufuk Aytekin graduated from the Air Non-Commissioned Officer Vocational School in 2015 and served as a non-commissioned officer in the Air Force Command, but it was learned that he was processed in 2019 on charges of being a member of the FETÖ/PDY armed terrorist organization. As a result of the trial, Aytekin was given a 5-year sentence with the announcement of the verdict being postponed, and he was expelled from his profession in 2021 with Decree Law No. 375.
