Following the suspicious death, the JASAT teams of the Edirne Provincial Gendarmerie Command took action and examined the security cameras in the area, phone records, and the woman's social circle. Investigations revealed that Çelik had last been in contact with 33-year-old Zeki Doğan.
STARTED IN THE FIELD AND ENDED IN THE FIELD
According to information reported by the Sabah newspaper, Semra Çelik and Zeki Doğan met in 2021 while working in a field in Şanlıurfa. It was learned that both were married and had three children, and an emotional relationship developed between the two over time. The couple, who came to Edirne together, stayed at a hotel for a few days. However, it was reported that Çelik's words, "I can't leave my children, I want to go back," angered Doğan, who reacted by saying, "I left everything to come here." After a dispute between them, it was determined that Doğan shot Çelik in the head and left her in the field.
