The fugitive contractor, who was involved in a landslide that killed 2 workers during the infrastructure works of a construction project in Tuzla, Istanbul, has been captured. With the arrest of the construction contractor in the incident, the number of detainees has risen to 5. The contractor was arrested by the court he was brought before.
During the excavation work in Tuzla district of Istanbul, contractor Zeki V., who was wanted in connection with the incident in which 2 workers lost their lives in a collapse, was taken into custody.
Following the collapse that occurred during excavation work owned by a private company in Tepeören Neighborhood, environmental engineer Cengiz Öcalan (46) and worker Salih İğne (46) were trapped underground and lost their lives. Yesterday, excavator operators E.U. and Ö.K. and crusher operators S.A. and K.A. were taken into custody.
FUGITIVE CONTRACTOR CAUGHT
The contractor of the construction site related to the collapse that became the grave of 2 workers, M.Z.V., was also caught and taken into custody. Thus, the number of detentions related to the incident increased to 5. The interrogation of the suspects, who were referred to the prosecutor's office, has ended. The prosecutor sent M.Z.V. to the duty judge with a request for his arrest and the application of judicial control measures for the other suspects.
WHAT HAPPENED?
