In a report by the German News Agency (DPA), citing the Suhrkamp publishing house, it was stated that philosopher and sociologist Habermas died today in the city of Starnberg.
WHO IS JÜRGEN HABERMAS?
Born in Düsseldorf, Germany in 1929, Habermas became an associate professor at Marburg University in 1961 and taught philosophy in Heidelberg from 1961 to 1964.
In 1964, Habermas took over the chair of philosophy and sociology at Frankfurt University (am Main) and served as the director of the Max Planck Institute, which researched the living conditions of the scientific-technical world in Starnberg from 1971 to 1981.
As a representative of the Frankfurt School, Habermas returned to Frankfurt am Main University in 1983 and resumed the chair of philosophy until his retirement in 1994.
