BRAZILIAN FILMMAKER RECEIVES BEST DIRECTOR AWARD
The Best Director award at Cannes was given to Brazilian Kleber Mendonca Filho for his film "Secret Agent." The Jury Prize was awarded to Spanish director Olivier Laxe for "Sirat" and German director Mascha Schilinski for "Sound of Falling." The Jury Special Prize was awarded to Chinese director Bi Gan for his film "Resurrection."
Norwegian director Joachim Trier won the Grand Prize with his film "Valeur Sentimentale." The Best Screenplay Award was given to Luc and Jean-Pierre Dardenne, the screenwriters of "Jeunes Meres." The Best Actor Award went to Brazilian Wagner Moura for his performance in "L'Agent Secret." French actress Nadia Melliti, who starred in "La Petite Derniere," was also awarded the Best Actress Award.
