A new tariff has come into effect for electricity bills. Residences where patients living with electric devices due to health issues reside will be exempt from the new tariff that came into effect on February 1st.

Patients living at home with electric devices due to health issues will be exempt from the new tariff that came into effect on February 1st. Subscribers who have patients dependent on devices due to health problems will not be affected by the regulation if they present a valid health report to their respective electricity distribution company.

REAL COST WILL REFLECT ON THE BILL

According to the new tariff for electricity bills, groups with a monthly consumption exceeding 417 kilowatt-hours and an annual total of 5,000 kilowatt-hours will pay the real cost starting from February 1st, 2024. However, 97% of electricity subscribers will not be affected by the regulation. Out of approximately 42 million electricity subscribers, 40 million will see no changes in their bills. Additionally, mosques, cemevis, relatives of martyrs, veterans, agricultural activities, village drinking water, temporary shelters of the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), and subscribers dependent on devices due to health issues will be exempt from the regulation.

DISTRIBUTION COMPANIES WILL REMIND TO RENEW HEALTH REPORT 20 DAYS IN ADVANCE

The limit for consumers dependent on devices due to health issues under the last resort supply tariff will continue to be applied as 100 million kilowatt-hours per year, as it was before. Electricity distribution companies will process the applications of consumers who are dependent on life support devices such as electric dialysis support units and respiratory devices, and who have supporting documents, upon their written request. The companies will also remind subscribers benefiting from this exemption to renew their health report 20 days before the report expires. In planned electricity outages, these consumers will be informed primarily through the communication method specified by the consumer by the electricity distribution companies.
