The tension that began with the alleged halay dispute between BBP General Chairman Mustafa Destici and singer Gülben Ergen at the kindergarten opening in Adıyaman is escalating with mutual statements. Most recently, Destici targeted Ergen once again, stating, "In my opinion, she is not an artist. What she is is obvious." Ergen responded to Destici by saying, "I will donate the compensation from the new lawsuit I will file to street animals."
The debate that started between the Great Unity Party (BBP) Chairman Mustafa Destici and singer Gülben Ergen continues to grow with mutual statements.
STARTED WITH THE HALAY DISPUTE
The crisis was ignited by halay footage from the opening of a kindergarten held in Adıyaman. The claim that Gülben Ergen, who attended the ceremony, deliberately let go of the hand of a woman wearing a headscarf during the halay became a hot topic on social media.
Following the footage, Ergen responded to the accusations directed at her with a strong statement. Emphasizing that she does not separate people based on their clothing, Ergen stated that she got carried away with the young people during the halay and that it was not the case that she deliberately excluded any woman.
HARSH WORDS FROM DESTİCİ
Later, BBP leader Mustafa Destici also joined the debate. Targeting Ergen, Destici said, "They are not one of us. Actually, I would like to say this; I don't want to talk more, but the life of the person in question is evident. More precisely, their lack of life is evident. They have lived every kind of immorality throughout their life. In fact, our sisters and mothers should not hold their hand, nor should they let them join the halay."
In response to these words, Gülben Ergen announced that she would take legal action against Destici and that the income from the lawsuit would be used for school construction.
DESTİCİ'S "NOT AN ARTIST" OUTBURST
However, the tension did not end with this statement. Most recently, Destici once again targeted Gülben Ergen during the "Anatolian Conversations" program of the Turkish Press Federation he attended. In response to the question, "Is Gülben Ergen an artist or not?" Destici stated, "In my opinion, Gülben Ergen is not an artist. What she is is evident."
THE RESPONSE CAME QUICKLY: I WILL DONATE TO STRAY ANIMALS
The response to Destici did not take long: Ergen stated in a statement on her social media account, "I will donate the compensation from the new lawsuit I will file to stray animals."
