Almeda Baylan, one of the successful contestants of Survivor All Star 2025, shared the stories of violence and abuse she experienced at a young age.

Almeda, who explained that her childhood was spent in different homes due to her mother's second marriage, said, "I was born in 2002. We are originally immigrants; my mother is a Greek immigrant and my father is a foreign national, but since my parents separated at a young age, we came to Turkey, and I was born in Turkey. We are three siblings, but my sister stays with her father. My mother has been married twice. I was living with my grandmother, then with my uncle, and suddenly I found myself living somewhere else. I was staying with my aunt; the process was a bit complicated."

"I GREW UP GETTING BEATEN"

The young contestant, who said she grew up getting beaten, stated, "I went through a lot of difficulties during this process. For example, my parents were not with me; I had my cousin. Even during holidays, while my cousin was being loved by her parents, I always felt a longing inside me, and my brother felt the same way. I grew up getting beaten by some of my relatives. My brother, too, was often subjected to violence in front of my eyes, and I couldn't protect him. I was a girl who got beaten with a belt just out of jealousy, because my cousin was jealous of me, even when there was nothing going on. These experiences had worn me out a lot. That's why now, at the slightest sound, at the slightest word, if I feel injustice, I go crazy, and I don't even know why I go crazy."

"I EXPERIENCED AN UNFORTUNATE EVENT AT THE AGE OF 10-11"

Almeda Baylan, who recounted being abused by a close relative, said, "Because I grew up with things I didn't want and on top of that, until I experienced an unfortunate event by a close relative at a very young age... You don't know what to do at that moment because you don't even know what is what. At that moment, you are scared, and you can't do anything; you can't defend yourself. I didn't tell anyone at first; I later told my mother about this incident when I was still very young, around 10-11 years old. When I told my mother, she was very upset. If you ask how I coped, I am a very strong woman, and I know I have a strong character. Generally, in the places I stayed a lot, I was subjected to violence and bad words. These situations have brought my psychology to this point. The only thing I am happy about is that I am glad I got out of there. I am glad I came to Izmir, that I came here. For example, I was in Adana living with my uncles, and I felt like a refugee, to be honest. I had matured in age and didn't fit in that house anymore. I had to leave, and I left without knowing where I was going."
