In the Lapseki district of Çanakkale, it was learned that Neslihan Soysal, a literature teacher who was one of the five people who lost their lives in a collision after a driver failed to comply with the police's "stop" order and entered the wrong way, had married her husband Mustafa Soysal just five months ago. Additionally, it was revealed that the young woman's mother also lost her life in a traffic accident eight years ago.

A massacre-like accident occurred on the Çanakkale-Lapseki highway around 02:30. Police teams signaled a car, whose driver's name has not yet been learned, to "stop." However, the driver did not comply, and the police teams pursued. During the chase, the car entered the wrong direction at the Kangırlı junction and collided with a vehicle with the license plate 17 LP 800, driven by Mustafa Soysal, coming from the opposite direction.

Upon notification, health, police, gendarmerie, and fire teams were dispatched to the accident site. Under the control of health teams, it was determined that Nuray Tekin, Osman Göksu, and Doğukan Samet Eğer in the car with the license plate 35 APD 325, as well as Neslihan Soysal and Hanife Soysal in the other vehicle, lost their lives. The injured driver Mustafa Soysal was taken to the hospital by ambulance. Mustafa Soysal was discharged after his treatment.
