A tragedy occurred in İzmir last night. The mother, Melisa Sinem Akcan, who went out to collect the money for the scrap she had gathered, lost her five children in a fire that broke out due to an electric heater tipping over. Following the incident that shocked Turkey, the five children were laid to rest in a funeral ceremony. The moments when the father, who attended the ceremony with special permission from prison, embraced his children's coffins devastated those who witnessed it. FIRE BROKE OUT WHILE THE MOTHER WAS NOT AT HOMEThe incident took place in the evening at a house in the Cumhuriyet neighborhood of Selçuk district. According to the information obtained, Melisa Akcan, who made a living by collecting scrap, allegedly left her five children, aged between 1 and 5, at home and went out to collect scrap. While the children were at home, the electric heater used for warmth suddenly tipped over and a fire broke out. 5 SIBLINGS LOST THEIR LIVESAs the fire quickly grew, the house filled with smoke, and the five siblings were trapped inside due to the locked door. Neighbors who noticed the fire alerted the fire department and medical teams. The teams that arrived at the scene intervened in the fire and extinguished it, but they found the lifeless bodies of the siblings named Aras Bulut (1), Masal Işık (2), Aslan Miraç (3), Funda Peri Akcan (4), and Fadime Nefes (5) who were trapped inside.
